This little piece of technology called a bare pen. A group of students from Royal College of Art (RCA) in London have created something revolutionary! A pen that you can actually draw a circuit and gain electricity from. This can be very helpful to people without electricity and revolutionary to how we generate energy.
Recyclables: Coming into trend!
Technology is the new direction and with the discovery of new innovative recyclable textiles. Could we be on the verge of a futuristic 80’s error?
The 80’s was a time when America developed new technology in textile such as the widely used Acetate! Now scientists are discovering new advances in the way we do fashion making it yet again possible for the fashion industry to develop avant-garde futuristic ready to wear designs.

It’s a tape Cassest tape from the 80’s and early 90’s. This blast is coming back into trend, but this time not how you would think! The tape inside the plastic case has been has discovered to be used in textiles. These looks are still pretty raw but it brings new meaning to the word recyclable.
Sonic Fabric is a new textile created by Conceptual Artist and Designer Alyce Santoro. This new textile has the consistency of denim, is made from 50% polyester and 50% Cassette Tape and get this, you can play audio while you wear it!!! Recently Santoro launched a line of ties that are hand-made and will actually be able to play music while you wear them. According to CNN.com:
“The ties can be played by customizing an old Sony Walkman, and rubbing it across the surface of the fabric. The sound the ties make is, according to Santoro, “like scratching five records backwards at once.”
