The Bet: The Experiment: The Horse Motion.

Former California Governor Leland Standford made a wager with his friends. He bet peoples belief that horses always kept one foot on the ground was so false! Proving that horses actually take all four feet off the ground while running.

When his friends challenged his theory, what better marker then a wager? Using a horse, early model cameras, and a few willing participants changed the way we now view horses and motion pictures.

The Legend of Gustav Whitehead. The first person to fly?

Legend has it that The Wright Brother’s were the first to fly but recent evidence has shown that historians may have gotten it wrong, Gustav Whitehead was the first to create an aircraft. The Wright brothers did however make it popular by providing photographic evidence.

While history did give credit to the Wright Brothers it may have been rightfully so! They’re responsible for making a sustainable aircraft that eventually transformed into the air crafts we have today.
